The pokemon franchise was created by Satoshi Tajiri in 1996, and is centered on fictional creatures called “Pokémon”. Pokémon, short for "Pocket Monsters", was first introduced in 1996 by Game Freak and Nintendo. It started as a video game for the original Game Boy system and has since grown into a global phenomenon with games, TV shows, movies, and more.
The cartoon follows a young trainer named Ash and his journey to become a Pokemon Master. The games is basically the same thing but the goal in Pokémon is for you to catch and train creatures known as Pokémon, battle them, and become a Pokémon Master!
